The New Jersey Nets quickly went down after Vince Carter went out.

Carter left with a hamstring cramp in the first quarter and the Nets never recovered in a disappointing 101-91 loss to the Indiana Pacers, who got a terrific team effort in their first road win in nearly six weeks.

Peja Stojakovic scored 22 points and Fred Jones had 11 of his 22 in the fourth quarter for the Pacers, who pounced once Carter departed and never trailed over the last 34 minutes. Indiana is 2-1 vs. New Jersey this season.

"We had a whole scheme set up to double-team him," Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said. "He goes out of the game, it certainly changes the complexion of the game for their team."
