NBA commissioner David Stern says the NBA wants to keep the Trail Blazers in Portland, but the team's finances have to change. Stern told The Oregonian that Blazers owner Paul Allen may or may not be part of the team's future.
"All options are on the table," Stern said. "I think he worked hard to improve the team in Portland. He built the Rose Garden. At some point, he's entitled to say he's not going to subsidize it any further."
"I can say my goal on behalf of the league would be to keep the team in Portland, playing in the Rose Garden, with economic prospects that make some financial sense," the commissioner told the newspaper.
