According to the Seattle Times, Sonics guard Rashard Lewis, who pled guilty to a reckless driving charge last week, was suprised to receive a call from the league stating that he was suspended from playing for one game.

"I was at home packing my bags and getting ready to go to the [Portland] game when I got a call from the office to call as soon as possible," Lewis said before Sunday's 116-114 victory over Phoenix. "When I called in, they told me I was suspended, and I'm thinking, 'The Sonics suspended me?'

"They said it was the league, and for some reason I just didn't think it would happen. ... But as far as everything goes, it's better than the alternative. It's good for me to get charged with reckless driving rather than get charged with a DUI. I guess in the NBA handbook, if you're charged with anything, then you get suspended."
