A left heel injury that has been bugging Portland rookie Brandon Roy for the past month became so painful and stiff during the first half of Monday's game against the Clippers that he pulled himself, relegating him to the bench for the second half.
The injury is being likened to a bone bruise just behind his Achilles' tendon, but a proper diagnosis will be made today when Roy has a magnetic resonance imaging in Portland.
"It's been bothering me for a month, but every week it has gotten worse," Roy said. "It got real bad in the fourth quarter of the Minnesota game, then tonight when I was running down the court it got too painful and too tight."
