The New Jersey Nets have signed free agent forward Malik Allen, Nets President Rod Thorn announced today. Per team policy, terms of the contract were not released.
?We are pleased to add Malik to our roster,? said Thorn. ?He is a proven NBA veteran who can potentially add depth to our frontcourt.?
Allen, a 6?10? product out of Villanova, appeared in 60 games for the Chicago Bulls last season, averaging 4.0 points and 2.0 rebounds on .415 (107-of-258) from the field and .824 (28-of-34) from the line in 10.6 minutes per contest. He appeared in five postseason contests for the Bulls during the 2007 NBA Playoffs.
