John Paxson and Mark Cuban both attempted to put an end to the Kobe Bryant trade rumors involving their teams this week, but Phil Jackson doesn't expect the buzz to die down.

"I don't think anything does," Jackson said. "Do things end just because a day goes by?"

"I know your paper ends. They become partridge-cage fodder ..."

Jackson laughed, obviously in a good mood despite all that's surrounding his team.

"It's like saying the window is closing on those things. It's so not the business of basketball. Now we have to go about playing the game of basketball the right way."
