Rockets' guard Rafer Alston was in New York on Thursday for a court appearance related to his August arrest on assault charges, but the case was adjourned until April.

"It was neither something we wanted or didn't want," said Alston's attorney Alberto Ebanks. "We are helping the district attorney with his investigation. We believe they will come to the conclusion that Rafer did not commit a crime, because he didn't."

"I have every reason to believe the charges will be dropped. They have no resemblance to the truth, no merit. Justice will prevail."
