The Bulls have confirmed that they will try to talk with Avery Johnson, who was fired from the Mavericks on Wednesday, K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune is reporting.

The Bulls so far have only talked to Rick Carlisle and Mark Jackson about their coaching vacancy, and appear to be in no hurry to make a decision.  Mike D'Antoni from Phoenix may also become available, giving Chicago even more options.

Talk in league circles remains that the Pistons would deny John Paxson permission to interview assistant Michael Curry, considered the heir apparent to Flip Saunders.
