The Mavericks appear to be prepared to make significant changes this offseason as they look to adjust their roster while still remaining competitive, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Former coach Avery Johnson even hinted at the severity of their problems on his way out the door.  "I think there's a lot of work to be done," Johnson said. "Mark [Cuban] and Donnie [Nelson] realize that there's some holes that are going to be have to be filled."

The Mavericks don't have a first round selection but still have a variety of options this offseason.

Some are wondering whether or not the team will admit that the Jason Kidd trade didn't pan out and deal him out of town. They could also go in a completely different direction and deal former MVP Dirk Nowitzki.
