The Lakers expect center Andrew Bynum to be ready to participate in training camp a few months from now, according to The Los Angeles Daily News.

The 20-year-old had successful surgery on his right knee Wednesday, and he should be back to full strength within a few months.

"In three months, he should be 100 percent and ready to play," said Lakers' Coach Phil Jackson.

The injury initially occurred back in mid-January when Bynum partially dislocated his kneecap against the Grizzlies.

"I think Andrew's glad he did it now," Jackson said. "I think there's a sense of let's move forward, and let's get on with this and start the recovery process because there was no hope for him to return and play for us in the playoffs."
