Baron Davis opted out of his contract with the Warriors late Monday night making him an unrestricted free agent, according to The Associated Press.

He turned down $17.8 million from Golden State, as he elected to forgo the final season of his six-year deal.

Davis could still return to Golden State as a free agent, but they didn't expect him to opt out so it remains to be seen how exactly they feel about it.

Davis averaged 21.8 points, 7.6 assists and 4.7 rebounds while playing in all 82 games last season for the Warriors.
