The New Jersey Nets have signed their two first round selections in the 2008 NBA Draft, Brook Lopez and Ryan Anderson, Nets President Rod Thorn announced today. Per team policy, terms of the agreements were not released.
Lopez, selected by the Nets in the first round with the 10th overall pick, earned Third Team All-America honors after leading Stanford in scoring (19.3 ppg) and rebounding (8.2 rpg) last season. Stanford?s fifth all-time leading shot-blocker with 101 blocks in just two seasons, Lopez was a First Team All-Pac-10 member, and also earned league All-Defensive team honors in his sophomore campaign.
Anderson, selected by the Nets in the first round with the 21st overall pick, led the Pac-10 in scoring at 21.1 ppg this past season, earned First Team All-Pac-10 honors and was a finalist for the Wooden Award following his sophomore campaign at California. The 6-10 sophomore forward was a Second Team All-American this past season and became the first player in Cal history to record 600 points and 300 rebounds in the same season.
