More than four months after accepting the head coaching job at Indiana University, Tom Crean signed a 10-year deal worth at least $23.6 million.

School officials made the announcement Tuesday, the same day the university released details of the contract through a public records request.

"I left a very special situation at Marquette when Indiana offered me this opportunity," Crean said in a statement released by the athletic department. "I wanted to make sure that if I left, I would be going to a place that would be a destination for my family and allow me to build a program for the long haul with the same security."
