Vince Carter lasted less than two quarters before going down with a hamstring injury in the Nets' first preseason game against Miami in Paris, but luckily for New Jersey the injury does not appear to be serious, the New York Daily News is reporting.

The Nets still managed to pull out the win without Carter, taking the game 100-98 in overtime.

On a conference call with local reporters after the game, a Nets spokesman said Carter had told reporters in Paris "that he felt good, he felt that he caught it before it got serious" and that he left the game for "precautionary measures."

"It feels OK, it was more like a tweak," Carter told The Associated Press. "I think I landed funny, but I was able to catch it before I did anything bad to it. I just want to be cautious and try and work my way into the lineup on Sunday if I can."

Lawrence Frank didn't seem too concerned, either.

"I think it's just a little strained hamstring," the coach said on the conference call. "We'll know a little bit more tomorrow. We're just going to take it day by day."
