The New Jersey Nets defeated the Miami Heat, 94-92, on Sunday thanks to a strong fourth quarter.

Vince Carter led the Nets with 19 points, and Yi Jianlian added 17 in the victory. New Jersey went into the second quarter with a 30-16 lead but needed to outscore Miami over the final twelve minutes to win.

Marcus Banks, looking to secure the starting point guard role for the Heat, scored 19 points. Dwyane Wade added 18 points, 7 assists, and 6 rebounds in the loss.

Miami rookie Michael Beasley recorded 12 points and 11 rebounds in just twenty-six minutes of play while Brook Lopez had 8 points and 13 boards for the Nets.
