With rookie Derrick Rose at the helm and his backup, Kirk Hinrich, set to miss the next 12 weeks because of a thumb injury, the Chicago Bulls may be restricted in what help they can bring in at point guard because of the luxury tax, the Daily Herald is reporting.

"We're going to be real careful because right now we're looking at the tax number and all that," GM John Paxson said. "I'm going to, first of all, look at the available people out there, but also how does it work with us and the tax line."

"We do have a lot of players," Paxson said. "We have some depth. We'll figure the next day or two if we want to make some type of move. I guess my big concern is we really don't have a true backup point guard now with Kirk out."
