Mavericks' veteran Jerry Stackhouse has become upset with his role with the team, and his agent has begun exploring options to move him out of Dallas.

Stackhouse feels as though his style clashes with that of coach Rick Carlisle, but there are no hard feelings.

"The key part is there's really no conflict with us," Stackhouse said Monday. "It's understood that it's his job to coach the team, but it's my job to protect my future. I've got to have some say-so and dictate with the role that I'm kind of in now, that I'm ready to accept that. I don't think I'm ready to fully accept that at this point."

Stackhouse didn't play on Sunday night against the Knicks and may not play for some time.
