Pistons' coach Michael Curry explained on Monday why Allen Iverson is playing fewer minutes than he is accustomed to this season.

"He'll probably play fewer minutes than before because this is the best team he's been on," Curry said. "He's got very capable guys coming off the bench. For all our starters, they are probably going to play less minutes."

Curry's goal is to keep his starters fresh for the postseason, which wasn't something Flip Saunders always did during his tenure.

"Young guys haven't played," Curry said. "At the end of the year, guys are tired. Y'all tell me all the excuses -- I've read all of them over the years. We're going to play our young guys. If our young guys are playing well, they're going to stay in the game. They deserve it, they've earned it, and that's what we're going to do."
