Oklahoma City rookie point guard Russell Westbrook is extremely athletic and continuing to adapt to his role as the team's point guard.

"Whether he's a true point guard, I don't know," said one scout. "Maybe he's a combo guard. But if I were them I'd say, 'He's my guy at the point' and go from there. I like what I've seen. He's so athletic. He can learn a lot of what hes lacking."

Westbrook is averaging 13.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.59 steals per game, but not every scout is impressed.

"I haven't been impressed," the scout said. "I don't think he's a starting point guard. Never did like him at point. His ball handling is an issue. He makes a lot of poor decisions. Maybe he'll convince me otherwise in a couple of years. But from what I've seen, he's got a long ways to go as a point guard."

Westbrook is still struggling with his turnovers but doesn't understand why so many people consider him a shooting guard turning to run the point.

"I don't understand where all that comes from," Westbrook said. "I stopped playing my senior year (in high school) and everyone figured I didn't play the point because I grew. I've always been a point guard. It's a learning experience. It's all good. I just need to slow down sometimes."
