Greg Oden's role in Portland's offense could grow in the coming days with guard Brandon Roy nursing a hamstring injury.
"Now that he's doing some good things we drop him the ball and run him some quick sets, slowly give him more opportunities. With Brandon out there are more opportunities to go there," Coach Nate McMillan added.
The trouble for Oden has been staying out of foul trouble; he's averaging a rookie-high 3.8 fouls per game.
"We are starting to see what he is capable of, but he has a ways to go. But I think he'll get there. Now he's starting to experience what it is like to play that way. And it looks pretty easy for him," McMillan said.
"As he continues to grow, I think he'll become the guy we all think he's capable of becoming."
