Richard Jefferson will return to New Jersey on Friday night to take on his former team for the first time since the draft day trade which sent him to Milwaukee, the New York Daily News is reporting.

Despite feeling rejected at the time, Jefferson is not content with the deal and understands why he was dealt.

"I think everybody saw the writing on the wall for the organization," Jefferson said Thursday after practice in Milwaukee. "You know, with 2010, and my contract is through 2011. They really have to cut cap space. After having a solid year and the team not going where they wanted to again, I think they're pleasantly surprised with where they are right now."

"I'm happy for them," Jefferson added. "There was no ill-will. I wouldn't wish ill-will on Vince (Carter) or Devin (Harris) or anybody there. I had too many good years with them to say all of a sudden that I want them to lose every single game. No. I want them to play well and have a good season. I'm happy that they're playing well."
