The Pacers believe that they have turned a corner after a few disappointing seasons because of Danny Granger's play and a slight increase in attendance.

Last season, an average of 12,222 fans attended games at Conseco Fieldhouse. However, this year the number has spiked to 13,487 through Tuesday's games.

CEO Herb Simon is optimistic about the future of the franchise, especially with Granger's improvement on the floor.

"We showed a lot of faith in him by giving him a long-term contract, and he didn't rest on his laurels, he got better," Simon said of the $65 million extension the forward as given back in October. "That's a special kind of person."

Regardless of their growth, the Pacers still rank 28th out of 30 teams in league attendance. Team executives also say the team has lost money nine of the past 10 years, and is on pace to do so again.
