Richard Hamilton replaced Allen Iverson in the startling lineup in Detroit's game against the Orlando Magic on Friday night.

The Pistons are in the midst of an eight-game losing streak and 4-12 overall with Hamilton coming off the bench.

At 27-29, they hold the current 7th seed in the East, but are only two games ahead of the New Jersey Nets and Chicago Bulls, who are tied for the ninth spot.

Head Coach Michael Curry is hoping the change will get the team back to its winning ways.

"This change is more than about Allen and Rip," Curry said. "We hope that with this change, more guys will play better. That's what we are seeking. Hopefully this will allow us to execute better, get us back in sync and rejuvenate us."

The lineup switch came two days after Hamilton publicly said he should start.

Iverson is not with the team in Orlando and probably will not play in Boston on Sunday due to a stiff back. Curry said Iverson was not pleased when he told him the news, but expects him to handle it like a professional.
