An Indiana Senate committee voted 10-2 Thursday to adopt a bill that will double alcohol taxes while also increasing hotel, food and beverage taxes in Marion County to bail out the Capital Improvement Board, which runs Indianapolis's professional stadiums.

The proposal, initiated by Sen. Luke Kenley, also calls for the Colts and Pacers to contribute $5 million each.

The plan will now move to the full Senate for debate.

The CIB has dug itself into a projected $47 million hole for 2010, with $15 million of that coming because the Pacers can't pay their costs to operate Conseco Fieldhouse.
