Pacers forward Danny Granger believes that he should be in the running for this season's Most Improved Player award, but admits that he'll probably get looked over.

"I should be in the running, but I'm sure I'll get looked over," Granger said. "They'll probably give it to somebody else."

The Pacers plan to send a letter from team president Larry Bird to media members who vote for the award explaining why Granger should be considered.

"We all know the strides he's taken since the middle of last year to now," coach Jim O'Brien said about Granger. "It would be hard for me to believe that anybody, say from January 1, 2008, to now, has improved as he has, has impacted a ballclub as dramatically as he has."
