Many believe that the Mavericks chance to win an NBA title has come and gone.

Head coach Rick Carlisle has acknowledged the fact, saying that the team has to do whatever it can to help former MVP Dirk Nowitzki win a championship sooner rather than later.

"We have to do everything possible to make a championship happen now. Dirk's in his prime," Carlisle told the Dallas Morning News. "He's playing better than he's ever played, statistically and everything else. And he only has one goal. And that goal is our goal. And that's a title. We have to work to get the team better."
