Lakers coach Phil Jackson says that he has never been tempted to coach Team USA in the Olympics.

Los Angeles general manager Mitch Kupchak was working with USA Basketball several years ago and asked Jackson if he wanted to be part of the United States staff.

"It's something I've never desired to do," Jackson told the Associated Press. "I was asked by the Canadians if I'd like to coach their Olympic team. Steve Nash wasn't a mature enough player yet, so I had to turn that one down."
