Michael Jordan is interested in fronting an ownership group to buy the Bobcats.

Jordan touched on the subject Thursday for the first time since majority owner Bob Johnson said last month that he intends to sell the club.

"I would like to put together a team to do that, yeah," Jordan said.

It is unknown whether Jordan is on the verge of securing the investors and money needed to buy the team.

Johnson paid $300 million for the team in 2003.
