Pacers coach Jim O'Brien wants the team to maintain their uptempo offense style while also improving their defense.
"We can still be a top-10 defensive team while playing our style on offense. If you're going to score 110 points a game, you're not going to be in the top 10 in holding the other team to 85 points. There's a pace to the game. We use field goal defense," O'Brien told the Indianapolis Star.
The Pacers allowed opponents to score 106.2 points per game last season, ranked 26th in the league. Opponents shot 45.8% against Indiana in 2008-09, ranking them smack dab in the middle of the NBA.
