Heat president Pat Riley and head coach Erik Spoelstra are among employees that have accepted up to a 20 percent pay cut to avoid layoffs.
The pay reduction affects everyone in the basketball operations department, including team president Riley, head coach Spoelstra, assistant coaches, scouts and others.
The news was first reported in the South Florida Sun-Sentinel on Tuesday morning. Player salaries are not being affected.
The Heat laid off 20 members of its business operations staff in May.
