In the latest step in the NBA labor negotiations, the league has furnished financial data for the 2009-10 season season to the players union, two people familiar with the situation told CBSSports.com on Tuesday.

The information is crucial to both sides as they continue their heated negotiations that center on the financial health of the sport.  The owners contend that they are experiencing league-wide losses that are nearly $400 million annually. The union contends that the sport is healthier than the league is willing to admit.

According to a person familiar with the league's finances, the league experienced a $30 million increase in net revenues in 09-10, while at the same time that negotiated players salaries decreased $120 million.
