Ricky Rubio has adjusted to life in Minneapolis.

"I prefer a small town where everybody knows everybody,” Rubio said. “I like Minneapolis because it's not a small city or a (big) city. I call it a big town because it's not like (Los Angeles) or New York. I prefer this style a lot."

Minneapolis is more suitable for Rubio's personality and development as a young player. Pau Gasol, an All-Star power forward for the Lakers, is from the Barcelona area, too. Gasol, who spent his first 6½ NBA seasons with the Memphis Grizzlies, often shares his professional advice with Rubio.

"They don't attack you (in Minneapolis) like they do in L.A., for example, with Pau Gasol. It's easier starting here," Rubio said. "You don't feel the pressure, but you know that you have to win here, too, and give 100%."
