During the Houston Rockets' pitch to Dwight Howard on Sunday evening, they discussed how the team is built to be in a position to offer a second maximum contract in three years.

The Rockets can only offer a four-year deal to Howard, while the Los Angeles Lakers can offer up to five guaranteed years.

The Rockets are pitching Howard on the notion that they are the best fit for him in terms of competing for a title.

According to a person with knowledge of the conversations, “about 90 percent” of Howard’s questions were about the team.
