David Stern wants to bring fans closer to the on-court experience through developments in virtual reality and biometric technology, such as flashing information about a player's heart rate and acidic-levels on screen.

“First we watched broadcast, then we had cable, then satellite, then social media,” Stern said. “Now technology is going to make us evolve and improve far beyond that."

Following his retirement as NBA commissioner, Stern is now an angel investor whose portfolio includes over a dozen companies spanning virtual reality and biometrics fields. Most are related to giving fans a new way to experience games through developments in data and information.
