The Houston Rockets plan on converting Kevin Porter Jr. into a point guard.

The Rockets are having Porter work on his development with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in the G League bubble.

Porter is averaging 23.3 points, 4.6 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game on 44.1 percent shooting from the field while shooting 29.1 percent from 3 and 76.2 percent from the free throw line.

Porter's game has been compared to James Harden and the Rockets hope he can follow a similar career arc in more of a point guard role.

The Rockets also hope John Lucas can make a difference as a mentor for Porter.
