Bobby Portis has declined to exercise his 2021-22 player option with the Milwaukee Bucks. Portis will now become an unrestricted free agent.

Portis is leaving $3.8 million on the table with Milwaukee in hopes of a bigger deal in free agency. Due to their mounting team salary, the Bucks are limited to giving Portis the Taxpayer Mid-Level exception, in terms of a pay raise. That's projected to star at $5.9 million for 2021-22.

Portis averaged 11.4 points, and 7.1 rebounds in just 20.8 minutes per game. His shooting splits were excellent, as Portis hit 53.3% overall and 47.1% on three-pointers.

After a solid regular season as Milwaukee's primary big man off the bench, Portis had a terrific run in the playoffs. Portis capped this run with 16 points in the Bucks title-clinching win in Game 6 of the NBA Finals.
