The Phoenix Suns recognize that they have limited avenues with which to improve their roster, after using their best assets to acquire Kevin Durant. However, that hasn't stopped the Suns at setting lofty goals for improving at point guard.

Phoenix is expected to shop veteran point Chris Paul and his partially guaranteed contract ahead of next season. Two players on the Suns wish list to replace Paul are Fred VanVleet and Terry Rozier. VanVleet is expected to listen to offers after declining his player option for next season. The Hornets could trade Rozier, pending the outcome of the 2023 Draft.

Paul's $30.8 million contract is partially guaranteed for $15.8 million. The Suns could also increase the guaranteed portion of Paul's deal, if they wanted to put him into a trade to bring in a higher-salary player.
