L.J. Smith announced his commitment to Ohio State for the class of 2027 on Thursday.

Smith is the first five-star prospect to make a commitment this early into the recruitment cycle.

"I picked Ohio State because it felt like home to me," Smith said. "I feel like it's a place where I can succeed and reach my goals."

Smith is currently ranked No. 10 in the SC Next 60 for the 2027 class.

Smith is also Ohio State's highest-ranked recruit since Jared Sullinger in 2010.
