Ja Morant is on the trade block for the first time in his career and his trade value is believed to be considerably lower than it would have been a few years ago when he was the franchise player for a Memphis Grizzlies team that was one of the best in the Western Conference.

"In talking to executives around the league, I just have to report that I don't think Ja's value is very high right now," said Brian Windhorst on NBA Today. "He is having a terrible shooting season. As he's gotten farther into his career and he's dealt with injuries, he's driven to the basket less and less and has shot more and more.

"Right now, if you're looking at interest in Ja Morant, you're looking at buying low. And that's what I suspect the kind of offers the Grizzlies are going to get."

The Grizzlies are expected to prioritize receiving a package built around future draft picks and young players.

Morant has two seasons left on his contract with $42.17 million in 2026-27 and $44.89 million in 2027-28.

Morant is averaging 19.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and 7.6 assists with a PER of 14.7 in 18 games this season.
