The NBA announced Tuesday that Toronto Raptors head coach Darko Rajakovic has been selected by Adam Silver to coach the World Team at the 2026 NBA All-Star Game on Sunday, February 15 at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.

Rajakovic becomes the third coach in franchise history to participate in the All-Star Game, joining Dwane Casey in 2018 and Nick Nurse in 2020. He has guided the Raptors to a 30-21 record this season, including a 16-10 road mark.

Toronto ranks seventh with a 112.1 defensive rating and eighth in both points allowed at 112.2 and opponent field goal percentage at 46.1 percent. The Raptors rank second in opponent three-point percentage at 34.3 percent.

Raised in Serbia, Rajakovic began his coaching career in his hometown of Cacak at just 16 years old with the local Borac Cacak Youth Team in 1996. After three seasons, he was named head coach of the U20 and U18 teams at Red Star Belgrade, leading the club to two Serbian Youth championships during his eight-year tenure from 1999 to 2007.

Rajakovic then moved to Spain, coaching Espacio Torrelodones for three seasons from 2009 to 2012. From 2004 to 2011, he served as a European scouting consultant and NBA Summer League assistant coach for the San Antonio Spurs.

He spent seven seasons with the Oklahoma City Thunder from 2012 to 2019 before assistant coaching stints with the Phoenix Suns in 2019-20 and Memphis Grizzlies from 2020 to 2023. Toronto named him the franchise's 10th head coach in June 2023.

This marks Rajakovic's second All-Star weekend appearance after being honored as one of Oklahoma City's assistant coaches at the 2014 NBA All-Star Game in New Orleans.
