The Denver Nuggets are interested in signing veteran point guard Lonzo Ball. The Nuggets have two open roster spots following the trade deadline, and sit far enough under the luxury tax line to add fill both openings. One spot is expected to go to two-way player Spencer Jones, with the other open for a veteran addition.
Ball cleared waivers over the weekend after being waived by the Utah Jazz. The Jazz waived Ball after acquiring him and two second-round picks from the Cleveland Cavaliers in a salary-clearing trade.
The Golden State Warriors have also reportedly expressed interest in signing Ball for the rest of the season.
The veteran point guard has averaged 4.6 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.3 steals in 20.8 minutes per game. Ball has struggled shooting the ball this season, hitting just 30.1% from the field, including 27.2% from behind the arc.
