The Los Angeles Lakers are targeting forwards who can both defend and shoot three-pointers in free agency. How much the Lakers will have to offer free agents is dependent on decisions made with the rest of their roster, including player options for Deandre Ayton and Marcus Smart. Los Angeles could have over $50 million in cap space, if they choose to move on from LeBron James and Rui Hachimura this summer.

Players on the Lakers radar include Andrew Wiggins, Tari Eason and Peyton Watson. Those three players come with different challenges. Wiggins holds a $30.2 million player option with the Miami Heat and could opt in. Eason and Watson are both restricted free agents this offseason.

Los Angeles also has some interest in veteran forward Tobias Harris and Dean Wade, as well as guard Quentin Grimes. Those three players will all be unrestricted free agents in July.

"They need to get as many defenders with length that can knock down a shot as possible," an Eastern Conference front office member told ESPN.
