Monday was the first day of the 2011 D-League Showcase, held this season in South Padre Island.

Tulsa 103, Sioux Falls 83

The Tulsa 66ers (15-6) used a 29-point edge in the second half to knock off the Sioux Falls Skyforce (2-15) on Monday afternoon in the first game of the 2011 D-League Showcase. Latavious Williams led with 18 points and 12 rebounds, Brandon Brooks posted 16 points and six assists and Tweety Carter scored 15 points on 6-for-10 shooting. Sioux Falls had a +11 rebounding differential, but they made just 41.2% of their shots. Dexter Pittman starred with 16 points and 11 rebounds, Anthony Harris tallied 15 points and 12 boards and Sean Marshall scored 16 points on 6-for-13 shooting, including 4-for-7 from three-point land.

Iowa 95, Utah 93 (OT)

Courtney Sims forced overtime with a jumper and the Iowa Energy (16-6) finished off the Utah Flash (9-8) in the extra period. Othyur Jeffers led with 27 points and 17 rebounds, Sims tallied 25 points and 12 boards and Curtis Stinson put up 19 points and six assists. Both teams shot under 42% from the field and committed 20 or more turnovers. Ronald Dupree had 18 points and 10 rebounds, Orien Greene posted 11 points, nine assists, nine boards and six steals and Brandon Costner helped with 18 points and nine rebounds in the loss.

New Mexico 95, Texas 94

The New Mexico Thunderbirds (11-9) rallied for a win over the Texas Legends (9-9) in a game that featured no scoring in the final 1:42 of the fourth quarter. Dar Tucker starred with 28 points and 10 rebounds, Stephen McDowell posted 25 points and six assists and Jamine Peterson totaled eight points and 10 boards. New Mexico and Texas combined for 59 turnovers and both shot well from three-point land. Justin Dentmon had 22 points and eight assists, Joe Alexander tallied 21 points and 10 rebounds and Matt Rogers recorded 14 points and five boards.

Vipers 100, Mad Ants 97

The Rio Grande Valley Vipers (12-7) edged the Fort Wayne Mad Ants (12-8) at the South Padre Island Convention Centre. Jeff Adrien exploded for 30 points and 12 rebounds, Patrick Sullivan tallied 10 points and 10 boards and Jerel McNeal totaled 21 points, five boards and four assists. Rio Grande Valley had a +14 rebounding differential, which allowed them to overcome their 5-for-25 performance from three-point land. Oliver Lafayette scored a team-high 21 points on 6-for-12 shooting, Marvin Phillips posted 17 points and 10 rebounds and Roderick Wilmont scored 20 points on 6-for-13 shooting in defeat.
