Tuesday was the ssecond day of the 2011 D-League Showcase, held this season in South Padre Island.

Austin 119, Dakota 97

The Austin Toros (8-11) dominated the Dakota Wizards (6-15) on Tuesday afternoon. Lance Thomas had 12 points and nine rebounds, Carldell Johnson posted 10 points, six boards and six assists and Eric Dawson added 16 points and seven rebounds. Austin shot 53.6% from the field, while holding Dakota to 38%. Anthony Goods led with 20 points and five rebounds, Chris Johnson tallied 17 points and 12 boards and Vernon Hamilton contributed 16 points and five assists.

Springfield 95, Utah 89

The Springfield Armor (6-14) jumped out to an early lead against the Utah Flash (9-9) and held on for a close victory. Chas McFarland had 12 points and six rebounds, Jerry Smith tallied 12 points and five boards and Scottie Reynolds put up eight points, four rebounds, four assists and four steals. Springfield shot 56.7% on the night, while Utah went 3-for-16 from three-point land. Ronald Dupree led with 19 points and nine rebounds, Brandon Costner posted 16 points and nine boards and Orien Greene scored 17 points on 8-for-11 shooting.

Maine 98, New Mexico 97

Tiny Gallon made a pair of free throws to give the Maine Red Claws (10-11) a thrilling victory over the New Mexico Thunderbirds (11-10). Gallon led with 19 points and 13 rebounds, Mario West posted 18 points and seven assists and DeShawn Sims chipped in 16 points and 13 boards. Maine hit 50% of their shots, while New Mexico won the rebounding battle by five. Shane Edwards had 29 points and 10 rebounds, Dar Tucker tallied 14 points and five boards and Stephen McDowell scored 19 points on 8-for-17 shooting in the loss.

Erie 79, Idaho 74

The Erie Bayhawks (14-6) used a 10-point edge in the fourth quarter to down the Idaho Stampede (5-14). Blake Ahearn led with 16 points, five rebounds and five assists, Ivan Johnson tallied nine points and 14 boards and Garrett Temple chipped in 13 points on 3-for-10 shooting. Both teams shot 36% from the field, while Idaho committed 26 turnovers. Cedric Jackson had 20 points, seven assists and six rebounds, Carlos Wheeler posted 17 points and 14 boards and Jermareo Davidson grabbed nine rebounds.
