A year and a half ago, the Dunc’d On Basketball Podcast launched with invaluable support from RealGM so it feels appropriate to use this space to detail the new project Nate Duncan and I have been working on for a little while now that launches this week.

A little while back, Twitter reached out to the two of us to see if we could come together to produce original live content using the Periscope platform. After weeks of planning and a full test night, we are thrilled to announce the new project: the Twitter NBA Show, hosted by Nate and me.

The Twitter NBA Show will be built around nationally televised games, with a halftime show during each game and a postgame show after the final contest of the evening. We will start out doing the show one night per week with hopes to expand when interest warrants. We will launch this Wednesday with the Warriors at Raptors at 8:00 PM EST and Grizzlies at Clippers at 10:30 PM EST.

One of the most exciting elements of the venture for us is the viewer involvement- we will be answering questions during each show alongside our own analysis. Preparing and recording the show from Twitter headquarters provides the technological and logistical framework to make this ambitious idea a reality. Viewers can ask questions using Periscope or by using the hashtag #TwitterNBAShow during the games.

Since the timing of our broadcasts depends on when stoppages occur and the show will play in Twitter itself, the best way to stay in the loop is to follow Nate on Periscope (@NateDuncanNBA). That way, you can either set up notifications for when we go live or just keep an eye on it during games we will be covering.

It should be noted that the Twitter NBA Show will not replace or marginalize our daily Dunc’d On episodes. Rather, this will be a new venture that builds on our existing skillset and runs alongside that work.
