With just two games on Wednesday, Euroleague had six games on its schedule on Thursday. We are now halfway through the Top 16 phase, with three teams remaining undefeated.

Caja Laboral 77, Panathinaikos 70

Fernando San Emeterio scored 21 very efficient points to go with four boards and four assists to give Caja Laboral a critical 77-70 victory at home over Panathinaikos. San Emeterio made two critical free throws in the closing seconds of the game.

Both teams are now 2-1 in Group E despite Caja Laboral having an average point differential of +3 over the first three games of the Top 16 phase, compared to +13.3 for Panathinaikos.

The game was especially critical for Caja Laboral, who lost last week to Lietuvos Rytas by a margin of 89-86.

Mirza Teletovic and Esteban Batista also had strong games for Caja Laboral.

Mike Batiste has been excellent in Euroleague, but struggled for Panathinaikos in this one. Batiste had 14 points, but just two rebounds and six turnovers. Dimitris Diamantidis and Drew Nicholas each had solid performances with the former recording 11 assists in a losing effort.

Unicaja 98, Lietuvos Rytas 91

Unicaja picked up their first win of the Top 16 phase with a 98-91 come from behind win at home. Lietuvos Rytas went into the final period with an eight-point lead, but Unicaja outscored them by a margin of 36-21.

Nedzad Sinanovic had 15 points and eight rebounds in just over 12 minutes of work, going a perfect 4-for-4 from the floor and 7-for-7 from the line. Joel Freeland was strong with 12 points, eight rebounds and four assists.

For Lietuvos Rytas, Jonas Valanciunas had 12 points and seven rebounds on 4-for-7 shooting. Khalid El-Admin had 14 points and eight assists.

Both teams are now 1-2 and will need help to advance out of Group E.

Maccabi Electra 104, Union Olimpija 67

Maccabi ensured this would be a no-doubter from the start, outscoring Union Olimpija 28-10 in the first quarter. Maccabi shot an outstanding 64% from the floor as a team and the final differential would have been even greater if not for a mortal 15-for-25 from the line. They also outrebounded Olimpija by a +14 differential.

Lior Eliyahu was outstanding and was a flawless 10-for-10 from the floor to score 20 points. Jeremy Pargo had 21 points, five rebounds and six assists. Doron Perkins was the closest thing Maccabi had to inefficiency, going 3-for-9 from the field and 1-for-4 at the line, but he made an impact on the boards and defensively.

Giorgi Shermandini, Kenny Gregory and Damir Markota each finished in double-figures for an Olimpija team that shot just 37.7% from the field.

Regal Barcelona 80, Lottomatica Roma 56

Barcelona finished the first half of the Top 16 phase with an easy win over Roma and a 3-0 record to lead Group F. Barcelona led by just nine at halftime, but increased their defensive intensity in the third quarter, allowing just nine points.

Ricky Rubio went scoreless, but had five assists, five rebounds and four steals, while attempting just two shots from the floor. Juan Carlos Navarro had an off night scoring, finishing with 13 points and needing 12 shots from the field to get 10 of those points. Kosta Perovic had 13 points and Alan Anderson had 16. Fran Vazquez had seven points and five boards.

For Roma, Vladimir Dasic attempted just four shots in over 34 minutes of play. Ali Traore had 17 points and Darius Washington scored 16 on 13 shots.

Real Madrid 89, Efes Pilsen 86

Ettore Messina's team joined Barcelona, and Fenerbache Ulker as the only undefeated teams of the Top 16 phase through the first three games with an overtime win over Efes Pilsen in what was easily the juego del dia.

In the final seconds with Madrid down three, Sergio Rodriguez was fouled attempting a three-pointer from the left corner and proceeded to make all three attempts to tie the game at 79. Flip Murray's game-winner at the end of regulation was blocked by Clay Tucker.

Rodriguez set the tone from the start in overtime with a big three-pointer from the same corner to give Madrid an 82-79 lead and eventually made enough buckets inside and free throws to take the 89-86 victory.

D'Or Fischer had a monster game in the interior, scoring 15 points to go with 12 boards (six offensive). He also blocked three shots. Rodriguez had 13 points and seven assists. Pablo Prigioni added 17 points, going 4-for-5 from distance and 5-for-6 from the line with two of them in the final seconds of overtime. Clay Tucker had 19 points and that big aforementioned block on Murray.

Ante Tomic and Sergio Llull were non-factors in this one for Madrid.

Bootsy Thornton had 18 points and eight rebounds, while Kerem Gonlum, Lawrence Roberts and Igor Rakocevic had solid games for Efes Pilsen. Murray had 10 points on 13 shots off the bench.

Efes Pilsen shot the ball better from the floor, but Madrid's +17 in terms of free throw attempts were a huge factor.

Montepaschi Siena 66, Partizan 58

Partizan joins Roma and Zalgiris as the only three teams of the Top 16 phase without a win, dropping a eight-point game at home.

Montepaschi Siena had four players score in double-figures and capitalized on 22 turnovers from Partizan.

For Partizan, Jan Vesely had nine points, three boards, two assists and three steals, but he also committed five turnovers. Curtis Jerrells and James Gist, former stars at Baylor and Maryland respectively, were Partizan's only players to reach double-figures.
