Greg Brown III Commits To Texas, Passes On G League Select Offer

Apr 25, 2020 5:14 PM

Greg Brown III has committed to the University of Texans.

Brown turned down offers from Kentucky, Auburn, Memphis and Michigan to attend his father's alma mater. Brown was the 2020 Texas Mr. Basketball.

Brown also had an offer paying over $300,000 from the building G League select program.

Brown is the ninth ranked player in the class of 2020.

"It's a real hard decision to be honest," Brown said. "It took me until the final hour to really decide where I want to go. Five schools gave me a great opportunity and the G-League gave me a great opportunity. It was great visiting all schools and campuses. The coaches were great and the players were great. I just reached out to family and friends and I can't thank them enough for helping me with this decision because it was very, very tough.

"It was a long process. I decided in the final hour today after I woke up this morning. But I am happy to say I am committing to the University of Texas. Hook 'em Horns."

Precious Achiuwa Leaving Memphis For 2020 NBA Draft

Apr 24, 2020 3:54 PM

Precious Achiuwa is leaving Memphis for the 2020 NBA Draft.

"I've decided to declare for the 2020 NBA draft and hire an agent," Achiuwa said. "This is the next step in my journey and career as a basketball player. I'm really excited for it."

Achiuwa is the No. 12 prospect in ESPN's Top 100 for the draft. Achiuwa won American Athletic Conference Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year honors.

"I'd summarize my season as spectacular. Even though a lot of things were thrown at us early and we had a lot of ups and downs, we found a way to be successful," Achiuwa told ESPN. "I think I was able to show NBA teams my versatility on defense and that I am able to adjust to whatever role that is given to me and still find a way to be successful. We all had to adjust to different roles because of the uncertainty that was thrown at us early in the season. It was sad the way it ended because of the COVID-19."

Haarms is ranked as the nation's top available transfer, according to ESPN.

The 7-foot-3 center averaged 8.6 points and 4.6 rebounds for the Boilermakers last season.

His decision to transfer reportedly caught the team by surprise.
