The Wizards have denied a report from Peter Vecsey of the New York Post that Ernie Grunfeld rejected a three-year, $4.5 million proposal to remain as general manager.
Sources say no extension offer has been made.
Many have speculated that Grunfeld wouldn't return as GM.
Vinny Del Negro refuted an ESPN report before the game that he had lost his team.
“When you are losing games everyone jumps on you,’’ Del Negro said. “If you can’t take the heat, you shouldn’t do the job.
“You have to win games and that’s what you are measured on. Players are frustrated and I’m frustrated. You are going to get knocked down sometimes, but you have to keep getting up.’’
Kyrylo Fesenko will sign with the Pacers for the remainder of the season, according to sources.
Fesenko and the Warriors mutually cancelled an agreement they reached in December on a one-year deal because he was still rehabbing from an offseason knee surgery.
Fesenko also received strong interest from the Mavericks and Celtics.
The Golden State Warriors have signed free agent center Mickell Gladness to a 10-day contract.
Gladness made his NBA debut this season as a member of the Miami Heat, appearing in eight games over two different stints with the club. The 6’11” center made the Heat’s opening night roster and appeared in three games before being waived on February 7. He subsequently signed the first of two 10-day contracts with the Heat on February 12 and signed the second 10-day contract on February 28.
