Georgia Tech's Jarrett Jack To Declare For Draft

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Wednesday that Georgia Tech point guard Jarrett Jack will make himself eligible for the draft next week but will not immediately hire an agent.

The 6-3 junior, who could be a late first-round pick, has until May 15 to declare.

ESPN Radio's Doug Gottlieb spoke with Tech coach Paul Hewitt, who said Jarrett will not make a final decision until after finals are over next week. "Anyone who says anything different is not being truthful," Hewitt said.

Duke's Shelden Williams Returning To Durham For Senior Season

Duke's Shelden Williams has decided to return to school for his senior season.

Williams said in a statement Monday that he has decided to pursue his goal of earning a degree.

"For that reason along with others, I am going to pass on the opportunity to enter the NBA Draft," Williams said in a statement. "I am looking forward to finishing off my academic career with a degree and also returning to the playing court to help Duke compete for the national championship next season."

Prep Star Monta Ellis Declares For Draft

Mississippi State signee Monta Ellis will declare for the NBA draft instead of going to college, Ellis told ESPN.com on Monday afternoon.

The Lainier (Miss.) High scoring guard is rated as the second best player in the high school class of 2005, according to scouthoops.com. He said he is in the process of interviewing agents and will make a final decision in the coming days.

"This has always been a dream of mine," Ellis said. "This is the best move for me to put my name in the draft."

Ellis becomes the fourth high school player to officially declare for the draft, joining Oklahoma State signee Gerald Green (Gulf Shores Academy in Houston, Texas), unsigned Andray Blatche of South Kent Prep School (Conn.) and Memphis signee Shawne Williams (Laurinburg Prep, N.J.).

Missouri's Linas Kleiza Enters NBA Draft

Missouri sophomore forward Linas Kleiza, the Tigers' leading scorer and rebounder last season, announced on Saturday that he will enter the NBA draft.

The 6-foot-8 Lithuanian star averaged 16.1 points and 7.6 rebounds last season. He will not hire an agent, leaving his options open for returning for his junior season.

"I appreciate the opportunity that I have been given at Missouri," Kleiza said. "I have had a great experience and I have improved as a player and as a person.

"I will explore professional opportunities while completing the semester at Missouri and maintaining the chance the return to school."

Tigers coach Quin Snyder said he supported Kleiza's decision.

"Linas has expressed to me an interest in exploring professional opportunities," Snyder said. "We wish him the best as he pursues his goals."

Official Order Of 1st And 2nd Rounds Of NBA Draft Released

The NBA released the official order of the entire NBA draft today. Described first are the tiebreakers that were conducted in both the lottery and the rest of the 1st round.

Five ties among teams that finished the 2004-05 regular season with identical records were broken today through random drawings to help determine the order of selection for NBA Draft 2005, which will be held on Tuesday, June 28, at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

The drawings were conducted live on NBA TV earlier today at the St. Regis Hotel in New York by Stu Jackson, NBA Senior Vice President, Basketball Operations.  

The results of the random drawings:
- New Orleans (18-64) won a tie-breaker with Charlotte
- Toronto (33-49) won a tie-breaker with New York
- Golden State (34-48) won a tie-breaker with the Los Angeles Lakers
- Boston (45-37) won a tie-breaker over Memphis and Washington; Memphis then won a tie-breaker with Washington
- San Antonio (59-23) won a tie-breaker with Miami

Also reported in the release are the official orders of the 2nd round, complete with the trades that changed the order of the teams picking in the 2nd round dramatically.

May, Felton And Williams Leave UNC

North Carolina players Sean May, Raymond Felton and Marvin Williams are entering the NBA draft, leaving the NCAA champion Tar Heels.

``I've coached a lot of great players and these three here are at the top of the list,'' coach Roy Williams said during a news conference Friday.

Junior guard Rashad McCants already decided to leave early.

May was planning on returning for his senior season, but saw his stock climb following his MOP Final Four.

Tar Heel Exodus To Continue On Friday

A source close to the Tar Heels program confirmed with ESPN.com on Thursday night that both point guard Raymond Felton and center Sean May will declare for the NBA draft and are expected to sign with agents, ending their college eligibility.

The university has confirmed that Felton, May and freshman Marvin Williams will hold a news conference at 1:30 p.m. ET Friday to make their draft intentions known.

"It was difficult, but I think it's what's best for me," Felton told The Associated Press at the time. "It's something I wanted."

There is a conflicting report that indicates Williams may not declare for the NBA Draft.

Deron Williams To Enter NBA Draft

Illinois junior Deron Williams will announce that he is declaring himself eligible for the NBA draft tonight, a source has told the Post-Dispatch.

It is still not known if Williams has hired an agent, which would make him ineligible to return to Illinois. Though he would have until June 21st to withdraw from the NBA draft, to be held June 28th in New York, a source said Tuesday that Williams has no plans of returning to the team.

Green Enters NBA Draft

Gerald Green has announced that he will enter the NBA Draft.  Green has decided not to hire an agent, therefore retaining his amateur status.

Green, 6-8 from Houston, has signed with Oklahoma State.

``My decision is based on what was best for me and my future,'' said Green. ``I'm weighing all of my options, but I have still have plenty of time.''

``If he's a lottery pick, it's pretty much safe to say he'll be NBA-bound,'' Green's father said. ``If not, he'll be OSU-bound.''
