Memphis's NBA pursuit team has assembled the largest lobbying effort in five years, with 26 lobbyists from five firms registered to help win state money for a new arena.  The 26-member Nashville roster has several of the capital's most prestigious, influential and expensive lobbyists and lawyers.  And those are just the lobbyists registered to represent Memphis Basketball Partners LP, the local ownership group headed by J. R. `Pitt' Hyde III. At the same time, Hyde predicted the public debate over arena financing would soon end with an infusion of private money.
